ACES Casino Parties Frequently Asked Questions:
- How Long should we run our casino party?
Typically most are THREE hours in length, though the range does vary from
two and a half hours to four hours. Parties longer than four hours are rare
and often too long.
- Do we need to provide our own dealers?
It's your choice. Most customers use our trained professional dealers
because it makes for a more professional event and makes your planning so
much easier. However, if you want your own volunteers beyond the dealers
we provide that are your setup /delivery/ take-down crew - that's fine too -
it does save on costs.
- Are Casino parties legal?
Absolutely! Only play money is used - no real money is used in the games!
- Gratuities for dealers?
With ACES, none are EVER expected or required part of the event (this differs
from some of our local competition). However if you feel overall the dealers
provided did a job you wish to reward with a gratuity - you most certainly can
include extra on the payment of the balance due. ACES will split up the shares
of any tip with ALL the dealers specified by you the client. You, as the end
client, satisfaction is paramount!
Furthermore, ACES dealers are instructed to NEVER take cash tips from your
guests at the tables. We don't want your guests to feel 'pressured' for giving
the dealers tips at your event - there only job is to enjoy themselves playing
the games! This is also for legal and ethical reasons - call us for further
explanation if you have questions on this. ACES does not want any cash on the
tables - even to pay a cocktail waitress - to avoid the look of legal impropriety
and so you and ACES aren't in contravention to any gambling laws.
- What are the most popular games?
Blackjack is number one played by most guests at any event. Your guests,
though, will move from game to game during the course of the event. Some will
try all the games offered at your party. Craps is the game with the dice that
generates a lot of excitement - as typically everyone "sinks or swims on the
tide of the dice" together. Roulette is a fun game that tests your intuition
and 'lady luck'. Hold'em poker has become amazingly popular in the past several
years with so much of it shown on various TV shows. For variety, we also have
other versions of poker games - played on a blackjack sized table and one on
one against the dealer - such as Three Card poker, Let It Ride, Carribean Stud,
and Pai Gow Poker.
- Are casino parties a good fund-raiser?
Absolutely. You need to structure them a few different ways due to gambling
laws and 'risk' and 'directly winning something of value' in games of chance.
Call us and we can discuss specifics in further detail - as we've done these
fund-raising events for years!
- Does ACES have a minimum charge?
Yes. $350 minimum charge for events in '09. Basically that gets you 2 tables
(say a blackjack & a hold'em poker table), 2 dealers for a 3.0 or 3.5 hr party
with sales tax, delivery, setup, and takedown charges. In December '09 this
minimum is $500 for Sundays through Thursdays. Minimum of $1500 for New Year's
Eve, and any and all Fridays and Saturdays in December '09.
